New back porch

Hey you guys! Just wanted to show off my pretty new back porch. This has been my hubby's after work project for the last couple of months. But now it's finished. Ain't it pretty. He's kind of disappointed in it, but I don't see why. I'm so happy that I have somewhere to sit while the kids are playing in the backyard now. Didn't my hubby do a great job.

There are stairs coming down to this landing (pic above) and then steps off to each side like below. So we can either go to the right and go to our back yard or go to the left to mom and dad's house. He really planned it out. Just thought I'd share my excitement.

Alabama Youth Convention

Okay I promise this is the last post for tonight. I have a lot of catching up to do. We had a really good youth convention this weekend. Thank the Lord! Sis. Sharon Griffin was our guest speaker and she did an awesome job. Her message was outstanding on Saturday. The Lord was definitely there and she was so anointed. We have it on DVD if anyone would like to have it.
We enjoyed having her and her family with us. Little Victoria (below) is so beautifully (can't you tell) and she is soooo full of life. She kept us laughing most of the day. She looks like a little porcelain doll doesn't she?

Here's the whole family. They are such a blessing. I am so glad they are our VLB leaders again. I missed them while they weren't.
Thank the Lord again for a wonderful convention.

Police Kids Day and Amusement Park

This is a pic of the kids at the police station in Hoover about 20 minutes from our house. They got to see the swat cars and sit in the police cars. They thought it was so cool. Dalton wants to be a cop when he gets older. I'm praying that he will change his mind by then, but he's said it ever since he was 4. So if God don't undertake, I'm gonna be a very worried mom. But they did have fun and that's what counts, for right now anyway.
The moms of our church got together to take the kids to a local amusement park close to our house for a field trip last Thursday. They are usually expensive and we can't do that. But they had a Kids free weekend. So only the moms had to pay. We had a lot of fun. The kids had a blast.

Madison is on the right with her best friend Rachel. I thought this was the cutest picture of them. They are inseparable. Rachel's family is moving to Decatur soon, which is about 1 1/2 hours away and they are both so sad. I don't know what I'm going to do when they move. Madison is going to be miserable.

This is her and Rach on the kiddie roller coaster. Aren't they cute.

The 2 boys sitting together are Andrew and Dalton (on right). Dalton wouldn't hold his hands up. I don't know why. But they had fun anyway.

Here they are on the kid airplanes. I thank the Lord for the church kids at our church. They are good kids and I'm glad that my kids have other christian friends to be around. I am also very thankful that I can home school, especially when I see things that happened like the Virginia Tech stuff. The Lord has really blessed us, so that we can home school. And I know where my kids are and what they are going through at all times. I really didn't want to home school. I was scared of it. But I sent Dalton to Kindergarten and saw how the school's operated and I really didn't like it at all. So I prayed ALOT and I felt the Lord calling me to home school. Will was very unsure at first. But he's even been won over now. Anyway, I've done enough rambling. Hope you all are doing good.

Hey everyone! I thought you might all like to see my white rose bush. This is the only one that has bloomed so far. It has a light pink around the edges but it's hard to see it in the pic. I love this bush, but we've had problems with it growing ever since we've had it. We are trying to baby it now.

This is my red roses. The above pic and the pic below are the same roses. The pic below is just a few days later when they open completely up. This is my tallest rose bush, it's about 5 feet tall. And I payed the least for this one. That irks me. They actually look and feel like velvet and they smell so sweet.

This one is more of a close up. Would be a good desktop pic, Tammy.

These are some pics I took of the sunset one day. I thought they were beautiful. We are learning in homeschool about God's creation. It's amazing how beautiful that he made everything for us to enjoy. We've had some really pretty sunsets lately. I just so happened to have my camera on this day.

Hope yall enjoy the pics and everyone is doing well.

Hey everybody! There hasn't really been anything interesting to write about, so I haven't blogged. But I figured I would try. We have been trying to sell Will's truck this last week and we've gotten several calls on it, but no one has bought it yet (boo hoo). We really need to sell it. We are trying to pay off some bills and we are having to go down to one car to do that. Yall please pray that we will sell it soon.

We were watching Charlotte's Web with the kids tonight and Madison came over to me and said "Mommy, my tooth is loose." So when I looked at it, it was and so I tried to pull it and she would scream. Then I told her to try to loosen it and she kept wiggling it and finally she pulled it herself. This is her 2nd tooth that she has lost and she has pulled both of them. She got so excited. She started jumping up and down yelling "I pulled my tooth, I pulled my tooth." She is such a mess. She is a lot braver than I was at her age.

Well we had a really good weekend, even though it was raining most of the day Saturday. We had planned on going yard saleing (one of our favorite past times), but Will was on night shift last week and we really didn't want to get up early to go. So, we ended up going Thrift Store shopping that afternoon. We didn't find much, but we had a really good time looking. Sunday, the church threw my mom and dad (the pastor and his wife at Bessemer) an Anniversary dinner. Everyone cooked and they had a really pretty cake. I am a horrible daughter. I didn't take any pictures at all. I don't know what is wrong with me. Sorry.

I have taken some really pretty pics of my red rose bush and my cream color rose bush. I will try to post them in the next couple of days. Hope you all are doing well.

Pics of my kids on Easter

This is my beautiful babies on Easter. Dalton is 8. He's my little preacher. He insists on wearing a suit on Easter and he also picked out everything that he is wearing. If you have met Dalton, you feel like you are talking to a 20 year old. He acts like a grown up. He's actually too grown for his own good. He's a really great kid!!

This is Madison, she's 5 1/2. She is the tenderhearted one of the family. All I have to do is scold her and she cries. She is very shy and very prissy. She is total opposite of her brother. She is definitely all girl. She is also very intelligent. I love watching her talk, cause she makes the cutest faces and she gets so excited. It's funny!

This is my favorite of both of them together. I have been told to put them both into modeling, but I don't know yet. But they are beautiful, even if they are mine. Here I go with my proud mama act again.
But thank the Lord for a wonderful Easter. We had really good services in the morning and the night. We also had a great lunch with my mom and dad, Sis. Tammy and her family, and our friends the Ridlespurge family. We really enjoyed that. Hope yall had a great one as well.

Here's the snowball bush or tree???

Here's mom and dad's snowball bush. Isn't it beautiful!! It wasn't pretty last night when me and dad spent 3 hours trying to cover it up, so the frost wouldn't get it. But we finally got it covered up. Hopefully it will be okay.

Here's one of my red roses. Am I boring you guys yet? Sorry but I love Spring when all the flowers bloom.

This is Dad's Hibiscus (sp?) bush. It's pretty too. These are one of my dad's favorites.

More pics

Well my yellow rose bush finally has one rose that decided to bloom. I still think the purple is the prettiest, but these are pretty too.

Tonight was VLB night and the gleaners were in charge of the service. They did an AWESOME job. We all love when they do the service. They have their own moderator, song leaders, special singers, testimony person, ushers. It's cool.
This first pic is our 2 new VLB's (Kody & Sarah)being reconized.

This is our VLB leader, Dustin Washburn (Sis. Tammy's son.)

The kids all made signs and quoted Psalm 23. The 2 kids on the left are mine. They sung a duet tonight "Sing me a song about Jesus" and they did a great job, even if they are mine.

This is my daughter and her best friend Rachel, singing "He's still working on me", they were so cute.

Here's the my daughter (on the left) and Rachel playing the bells.

Here's all the kids playing the bells. My son is on the bottom row, beside the girl in the light blue shirt. He led testimony service tonight and did really good. Can yall tell I'm a proud momma.

This is their program, that one of the gleaners made. We have some really talented kids at Bessemer. God has blessed us so much. Thank the Lord for our children.

Hey you guys! Just a quick post. I am doing our State paper this week, so I can't post much. Will took pics of my Rose bushes today. I figured I would post them so you all can enjoy them too. I have four bushes but this is only one of them, because the buds on the other ones haven't popped open yet. Hope you enjoy.
